A Word From Our Senior Pastor:

Can you believe that it’s October already?! They say that time flies when you’re having fun and we are having a great time serving our Lord Jesus here at Sonshine. Starting this Sunday, October 1st, our service times are changing. The Traditional service will be at 9am, the new Sunday School hour will take place at 10:15am, then we will have our Contemporary service at 11:15am. We will also continue our various Life Groups on Sunday evenings at 5pm and regular Wednesday night programs will remain the same. I am super excited to be teaching a class on parenting! This class is for all those who are raising kids in this upside down world. I look forward to sharing Biblical principles that will help you train up your child in the way they should go. There are also several other Sunday School classes available. Be sure to come and invite others to this time of delving deep into God’s Word in more life-stage specific groups.

A Word From Our Youth Pastor to the Teens:

Hey Sonshine Youth! This month is going to be a ton of fun. We’ve got a few different activities planned, and it’s October so you know what that means!!! It’s Trick or Treat’n time! First on the agenda, is the start of Sunday School. We will be doing a “Walk Through the Old Testament” and looking at the major stories found there. This is a Sunday School for both middle and high school students, so I would love to see you all there! I will also be going on a little trip this month and will be gone from October 2nd-13th. While I am gone, Ben and Matt will be running things – so be sure to still attend youth group and Sunday School! Then, on the 14th we will have a Game Night!!! We’ll do some Smash Bros. tournaments, Sanctuary Tag, and more! On the 22nd, we will be having a Spaghetti dinner fundraiser where we will cook and serve the members of our church. So be sure to come out and help raise money for our activities! And finally, we will have a Halloween themed night for the youth group on November 1st (the night after Halloween). Look out for more announcements as that gets closer, as we will have a costume party with games, candy, and prizes! I’m excited for an awesome month and hope you are too!

A Word From Our Children’s Director:

What a crazy month September was – Summer ended, school began, and Hurricane Irma came and went! I hope you have all been able to recover and gain a sense of normalcy again. Despite the weather, we were able to successfully begin our new Word of Life program on Wednesday nights for both the students and the teens; and it has been going really well! As we look toward the Fall, we have some great things going on in both the Children’s ministries and the church as a whole. For Sonshine Kids there will be two Sunday School classes – Class A will be for 4 yrs – 2nd grade. Class B will be for 3rd – 5th graders. At this juncture, Mrs. Cynzia and myself will be teaching those classes. If you would like to be involved, we are always welcoming new volunteers! We will also begin our Good News Club that takes place at Neil Armstrong Elementary every Tuesday afternoon. Pray for us as we go to the school each week and are able to teach kids about Christ and His love to those kids who may never hear about God otherwise. A praise that we have is that there have been several newer families with kids that have been regularly attending! This is such a blessing to see! With that though, comes need for more Children’s Church workers and Nursery workers, especially for our 2nd service at 11:15. If you are able and wanting to help in either our Nursery or Children’s Church please let me or Pastor Dale know. This is exciting growth for us as a church! Thank You in advance
