Memorial Day, is often confused with other times that we set aside to remember the people that have served in our Armed Forces. The last monday in May is set aside as a day to remember the men and women that have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Memorial Day was originally called Decoration Day and was established after the American Civil War to remember the Union and Confederate soldiers who died in the Civil War. Today it has been extended to honor all americans that have died while serving in the military service. So today, unlike Veterans Day when we remember the service of ALL U.S. Military veterans, we remember the service of those who have died while serving our country. Thank you, God, for the men and women who gave their lives while in service to these great United States of America. God Bless America.
